hmm...i dunno

Microsoft Office XP Professional
Retail Price: 499.00
Our Price: $49.95
You Save: $410.00

Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium for Windows
Retail Price: 1199.00
Our Price: $149.95
You Save: $1050.00

part of their terms:
You cannot register the software with the manufacturer and updates are available not for all the products;
The list of the products that should be burned before installation

Why is the software so inexpensive?
We offer the software for downloading only, it means that you do not receive a fancy package, a printed manual and license that actually aggregate the largest part of the retail price. In this situation we are restricted in selling the products for private purposes only! You will not be able to get a technical support and different rebates from the manufacturer. Updates are available for the most of our products (you may ask our support staff for the exceptions) that make them fully functional and operating. Additionally you save the delivery cost.

i have never heard of a major company like adobe or Microsoft allowing you to use their product without a license, even if it is for personal use. Especially MS.

sounds fishy to me.

Yeah I'm not liking the whole unregisterable thing, raises one helluva red flag. I might shoot an email to MS and Adobe customer support and get their take on it ;)

it could be for college students, i dunno. Some sites do sell software at prices that college students could get them at.

"You cannot register the software with the manufacturer and updates are available not for all the products;"

What software publisher desires you NOT to register? Sounds very much like a tip off that these are at best hacked versions, and in any case I would not go near that vendor.

The fact that you can't register could be a big warning signal, or it could simply mean you don't get a license. Afterall, without a license you can't reigster anyway. They may simply be stating it as fact, not as a requirement.

I'd call Adobe or MS first to see if they know what's going on.

Some one just forwarded a link for office 2003 to me here at work. They'd been talking about the great deal they got on adobe creative suite from some download site, but I'd basically just ignored them because I had other things to do. The forwarded email they sent was basically just like this kind of stuff, the address was 101warez.com or something. I'm glad we spent company money on pirated software. I could have downloaded this sh|t off kazaa for free if we wanted illegal software.

having multiple copies of student versions is still violating the EULA, but MS is probably going to overlook that when you have sites like this.

that's cos what you got is a corporate license.. once you leave the school, you no longer have a license to use the software.

My undesrstanding when I bought it - what I was told - is that students can keep it but faculty must return the software.
