well... i just hauled my butt into a library to get some stuff done (being two weeks behind already)... but first, i had to hit up AT for a few last laughs... in case i died of studying. so anyway, i sat down at a computer and was browsing, browsing, browsing... and out of the corner of my eye, i caught a glimpse of what the dude next to me was looking at. first, it appeared to be some auction like site. a listing of stuff with pics. then i was like... those look like pics of women. i didn't wanna like stare at his monitor... so i kept trying to see it outta the corner of my eye. damn... u know how hard it is to try to focus of an object thats like 85 degrees to ur right? well... its pretty hard. so i keep trying to mind my own bid-nizz... typing, browsing, browsing... and OOPS! what do u know... i dropped a pencil. so i picked it up and just happened to get a good look at his shiiiiiiiiiiiiiii... 😎 i didn't get the url or anything, but it was a page full of asian women. not nude or porn... but i guess it was either some sort of classified or mail away bride site. how's thing fool gonna be checking this kinda stuff out at a school library? i guess there might not be any kinda rules against it as long as its not porn... but still. maybe if i can get on that machine... i can check his cookies/history... hehhee 😉

UPDATE - well... it seems that machine is frozen. and being its a library computer, they've got the thing locked way down... :disgust:

I bet he's a pr0n fiend and he was just searching for ways to get his rocks off without breaking library rules...
 
Unfortunately not all school libraries are up to speed on blocking stuff like that. They have rules in place, but no way of implementing or verifying them. Secondly, a lot of sites look innocent on the main pages and have all kinds of interesting stuff when you browse through them.

I think just like you saw this unknowingly, there should be staff walking around ensuring that kids dont come to school libraries for "extra curricular entertainment".

I am not sure if there are any rules for what we look at in our library, or anywhere else on campus. Probably is, just haven't heard them.
