Dell had a special deal in HOME/OFFICE right now. My laptop configuration looks like this. Please post comments on this? Maybe what you would do differently...thanks

Here is what im getting:

P III 1.0 Ghz
15" Super XGA (free upgrade)
256 RAM ( free upgrade)
30 Gig HD
24X CD-ROM
16 MB GeForce2 Go
10/100 card
XP Home Edition

I am going to buy an external CDRW on my own so i can save the $179 instead of going through dell (seems a little pricey). Also i am going to upgrade to XP Professional via my other ways..hehe. No need for a DVD, because i really wont be watching DVD on the computer i dont think....Post your thoughts...thanks

FREE SHIPPING
FREE DIGITAL CAM (they say, although i dont see where it is yet?)

TOTAL = $ 1529.00

Looks a bit pricey to me compared to some other deals that have been posted here over the past couple of weeks. I think we're gonna see laptops drop more by Christmas and a lot more after Christmas. JMHO.

Check the Dell refurbs as well. They are as good as new and can be substantially cheaper than a new one. You get a 15 day period to return a refurb if you are not happy with it.

I have a refurb Inspiron 5000 and have been very pleased with it. :D

Seems a bit pricey. I would post this in the Off-Topic forum since it definitely doesn't belong in this one.

Matrixvision, thanks for the request for locking the thread....says alot. I know i posted a earlier message about dell laptop (badluck), but this is a brand new deal they just put up today (11-16). It is different in that they are upgrading memory & screen and plus getting free shipping. I am sorry about posting something without the link, wasnt for sure , but i guess i should have figured it outTextTextText

sorry about the mess up. Just thought it was a fairly good deal say that your getting a 1.0, 256, 15" 30 gigger, xp home, 10/100....for $1500

msucurt: you did ask for an opinion :) IMHO - get thinkpad. Where is somthing about an ibm ... in my years of expirience, tpad, for some reasons seem to outlast any laptop on the market ... They usualy don't loook cute, more expensive, ext. but rugged, well engeniared, ext. just an opinion, take it for what it's worth.
