Is this compatible?

Yes, it will work just fine.

EDIT: Might I add that that is an incredibly expensive cooler. A ThermalRight Ultima 90 would probably do much better than that for less money, and maybe even less weight.

I have a CNPS9500 - it's a good cooler.

It will fit on the socket, and it should do a decent job of cooling a quad - although quads are very hot.

This cooler is absolute crap on a quadcore.

If you havent recieved the package, tell fed ex to send back to seller and request a refund.

DONT LOOK AT ZALMAN PERIOD.

The thermalright Ultra120, and the tuniq tower is what you want to look at if your overclocking a quad.

You'll be VERY VERY disapointed when you get that and drop it on a quad.

. . . Even so, you might try dropping the multiplier, running a pair of DDR2-800 RAMs up as far as you can to spec with a 1:1 divider, and then tweaking the latencies down to the lowest stable settings. Some people do this so that their Q6600 (as an example) is running just a few hundred Mhz above its 2.4 Ghz (overall speed) spec. The temperatures you get that way might fall well within the capabilities of the Zalman.

There may be pros and cons on this matter -- for instance, I'm convinced you can't use INtel SpeedStep with other than the stock multiplier -- but I've tried it, and I know of several others who like the result.
