Is this Camera worth it?

as it's my first SLR, I bought my friend's XT for $550 and I'll invest some more into lenses and see if I have a knack for this photography thing or not.

XTi is $300 more. You certainly don't get $300 more in camera IMO. You won't likely even notice an image quality difference unless you make poster sized prints. I'd go for the XT now. 🙂

How's your experience with it so far?

It's decent optically. A bit on the slow side, meaning it's not too hot for low light. It's built cheaply too.. plastic mount and all. It's fine if you don't shoot low light. I'd get the kit lens and a fast 50 to start off. Something like the 50mm F/1.8.

Its a decent price for a pretty good camera. You really can't get anything much better without spending a lot more. The XTi doesn't offer that much differences, it really depends on what pics you take. But the fact alone that your asking this question, its probably going to be more camera than you can possible handle.

haha. of course. I can handle my G5 really well on manual, but still am lacking when i try to use my friends dslr.
Hmm, sounds good, i'll probably go for the body with the kit lens.
