Mary J. Blige is biting back against Burger King.
The 41-year-old singer, who appeared in a new commercial for the fast food chain touting their fried chicken wrap, is apologizing to her fans after the spot was yanked amid charges of playing on racial stereotypes.

"I agreed to be a part of a fun and creative campaign that was supposed to feature a dream sequence," Blige tells Us Weekly in a statement of the spot, which was slammed by critics and subsequently yanked from the airwaves after going viral earlier this week.

What's next, Indians can't sing about curry? Japanese people can't sing about ramen?

Who cares if that's even a stereotype? As black comedians have pointed out, who doesn't like chicken?

I don't think its racist, but to see a person of Mary J's caliber doing a stereotype commercial ain't to cool, IMO.

I guess white people don't make the Church's chicken commercials then...I've only seen one of them ever with a white person in them, the rest are all black...but damn they have the BEST spicy fried chicken on the PLANET:biggrin:

Oh and there's not a damn thing about that commercial that's racist
