Is this battery charger overkill for my uses?

It doesn't have exactly the same features, it does not feature temperature compensation nor an external probe. True the Batteryminder probe is near the unit, but you can buy an extension probe to go directly to the battery and plug into the Batteryminder unit.

Um, yes, the BatteryTender PLUS does have temperature compensation. That's what their "Plus" line means.

It's only the non-plus models that lack compensation.

Honestly, if you can't even bother to look up the features of the units, why should we trust you?

I don't know why I said it didn't have temperature compensation when I meant to say that it didn't have a way to attach an external temperature probe. The Batterytender plus' probe is basically at the unit itself. But anyway the Batterytender Plus doesn't have full time desulfation like the batteryminder. Batteryminder's desulfation actually does work.
