Is this bad?

I came home from work today and found my monitor on the floor, face down! Apparently it fell off my desk somehow, even though no one was home to touch it!

Anyways, it sounds like there are pieces bouncing around inside and the casing has a crack. It turns on though and displays a picture, but has a rainbow colour streak over the entire screen. Think it's fixable?

If it didn't have the rainbow streak, then I'd say it is just fine. Back when I was in high school, our computer lab had a problem with people pushing the monitors off the desk. Most worked just fine with just a cracked case. However, I don't think there is any way you can fix the monitor for less than it will cost to buy a new monitor - especially since you have a rainbow pattern. Sorry for your bad luck.

Ouch lol

My friend has a POS monitor, the thing takes a half hour to "warm up" lmao, then it displays clear 😕

I have no idea how it fell off! It makes no sense... part of the desk gave way, but it shouldn't have because it basically defies gravity. I just got this thing fixed (under warranty) too, so I'm not exactly happy.

The rainbow thing is very weird... I was suprized that it worked at all.

I know when that happens to tv's you're usually better off just getting a new tv. However, I know very little about the technical aspects of monitors, so my word isn't law.

Sounds broken. It'd be easier to just buy a new one, trust me.

Monitors are pretty cheap these days, you can get a nice one for not too much. Unless that broken monitor was a new one. If then, ouch. Sorry man, I hate it when freaky things like that happen too.
