Is this bad?

big, big, big thread on Hardforums(mobile computing), would link but there site is down for maintenance this weekend. Also check out the forums on the everex website. All in all not a bad machine, probably biggest issue is really wierd keyboard. I bought one thru Officemax when the price was 699.00.

i probably wouldnt mind a no-name, or lesser-known rather, brand if the laptop was going to sit on a desk mostly. if you plan on travling with it much, i would think you would want a good brand name for a couple reasons like easy to find parts and inherit durability.

hey thanks for the replies everyone. I will check the forums you mentioned, wish Officemax still had it.
CompUSA has an, i think,HP that is pretty similar other than speed. But lots of blotware.

As far as the No-name brand durability goes, I have an Everex notebook that is much much more durable than my previous Toshiba model. The only downside is the lack of replacement parts like said above. They're a great brand with great products.

If you can get an HP for cheaper id go for it, dont worry about bloatware. You can always wipe the drive when you get it and install from scratch. Thats what I always do when I get a new laptop, including my macbook. Even apple puts a bunch of unnecessary crap on their machines.
