Why does the cameraman turn towards the oncoming car before anything happened? that makes me lean towards fake...

Completely fake. Mostly because of the bad acting and bad lines.

But they did a great job the special effects and overall quality for a little film piece.

The cars are moving very unnaturally. I would have said that was fake by a HUGE margin without being tipped off from the start.

obviously fake as shit, but pretty cool regardless.

the whole "lets go check the car" while pointing at the camera and telling him to come along just screams fake.

The better CGI gets, the more we are going to question every video

Already well past that point. Just assume every video is fake until verified with at least 2 reputable sources.

In this case however, there was nothing to question. The CGI was awful, the physics completely unnatural, the special effects a joke, the acting childish, the reactions clearly staged, the camera work obviously rehearsed. It's puzzling how a person could look at that video and not instantly know it was fake.

Sound effects were spot on though.

Can't see the video in the OP but I assume it's that stupid video where they hit and "blow up" with a implausibly parked Ninja 250?

Yes, brother. It's that one.

What bothers me is all the "reasons" people are giving for it to be fake.

BY FAR the biggest giveaway is that a vehicle fire leads to an anticipated explosion. That's all Hollywood and video games. Unlike the Call of Duty games, cars just don't explode when they catch fire. Now, if it was carrying explosives, ...explosives DO explode.

Thought the same thing. Looks like something made with one of those iPhone apps.
