My PIII 700e cb0 is running at 933mHz @ 1.80V, and its 46 degrees Celsius.

Is that acceptable? Will my processor overheat and die?

thanks.

Why aren't you using the internal diode readings?

A diode on the fins of the g-orb will read a lot lower than actual core temps. Try [l=MBM]http://mbm.livewiredev.com[/ll] and select one of the temps to show "Asus2-CUSL2" and let us know what temp that is reading...

Any external thermsitor is inherently less accurate than an internal diode.

Why does he have to keep it under 40? The core temp is rated to 75C, and during summer, my chip hits the low 40s... There isn't a problem with that.

My comp resets occasionally -- and my CPU, according to MBM, is 49 degrees C.

Is that good or bad?

what are the temp boundaries for my CPU?

thx

Thermal Spec for P3-700 is a max 80C(max=melt down or blow up=LOL). IMHO you temp is high if that is avg or idle temp. With air cooled PEP66 on my 700 my average idle is never above 32C and don't see above 46C under heavy load using Prime95. This is at 1.90v and 144Mhz Bus.

they've answered your question a MILLION TIMES MAN! read the replys for your temp limitations, or why bother asking if your not gonna listen to them?
