Afternoon everyone.

I am currently using a Radeon 5670 (GDDR5 version) and although it struggles a bit with the latest games at 1080p, I'm a big fan of the low power consumption.

I have been looking at some reviews of AMD's new Radeon 7750 and from the looks of things, this is a decent upgrade and actually uses less juice.

I'm in the process of starting a house move just now and I'm not interested in spending a fortune on a new card or upping my electricity bill any further.

Sooo, does anyone have any experience of both cards? Am i on the right track or am I wasting my time with my ideals?

If your a typical user who cares about power consumption and performance per watt,over anything else,go for it if you think its worthwhile,most may tell you to grab a gtx460/6850 to make a upgrade worthwhile really and for newer titles at 1080p,its gonna be the way to go.

But you did fail to mention game titles...me i feel is a 7700 is the really big upgrade and performance numbers show it nearly pulling half the power of a gtx460se,but with the same performance which you could use but its price is closer to the 6850 and newegg price checking shows the 6860 costing less for most models.

But both the 7750 and 7700 look like excellent options if your a green power kind of power.🙂

I've been on the lookout for my "next game" ever since I stopped playing Ut2k4 and Eve online.

Recently I tried world of tanks and I've been toying with the Tribes ascend beta. Tanks ran pretty well but Tribes forced me to lower the res down from 1080p and set low-medium settings to get 30 - 40 fps.

Skyrim for the most part runs pretty well at medium settings.

My only problem I can see with the 7750 is there's only 1 DVI port (maybe non-reference boards will address this) as I run dual screens at home for Web Development.

I might wait a bit longer and see what happens with other Manufacturer's boards... hmm.

But yes, it's a good upgrade if you need the power. You're not getting more performance per dollar, but power consumption figures are impressive:
