Is this a trend in every state with no front license plates?

It seems that every other BMW, Merc, Audi, or VW I run across in PA has a fscking European plate on the front, and a plain old PA plate on the back. WTF?

Some guy at school is selling his '97 M3 for cheap - I was considering it for a moment this morning until I walked around to the front... ZOMGEUROPLATEEEE. I'm like "WTF this probably isn't even a real M3"

I saw a riced Honda with a Puerto Rican flag and a euro plate that said "MATEO" BENEATH the guy's NJ front plate. Talk about an identity crisis.

Yeah, they look stupid. For some reason Americans drool over anything European, especially German and/or British.

Hmmm... Gotta look it up later, but that'd be great (especially on the new audis) if you could replace your state issued license plate with that. I can still get the red-light ticket, but my front end won't look all fvcked up.

Eventually, they will require it in all states. They want them because it's what they aim the laser guns at. They can use the headlight reflectors, but a flat reflective surface works best. A lot of newer cars are too curved in the front for them to get a laser speed lock on anything but the headlight reflectors...

I might buy one just to hang on the wall or something. But heh. Never for a damned car. I wish the states would start giving us the option to get legitimate plates in that form factor, though.

Says the chick with a SUBARU?

You can't get much more reliable than Subaru.

What's your point?

I am not a woman, and my Outback is the most dependable car I?ve ever had. The non-interference EJ22 (2.2L) is bulletproof. Low maintenance and super dependable.

Sorry to be unclear. Somebody driving a Mercedes or BMW doesn't need to save up to buy a Toyota or a Subaru, unless they were driving 80's models or something

Yeah, but the ones I see are some 20 year old kid, with the fake plate on the front. The cars are not very nice.

And I was mainly talking about the VWs with the plate

Haha, York. I can see that kind of crap happening there (along with a lot of other crap). I drive through there on the way home to my parents house.

York is a fun little place. It's got a SERIOUS identity crisis that's just OH SO MUCH FUN to laugh and giggle at.
