Is this a strange phobia? Tall objects

For reasons I can't explain, there are some things that just seem to freak me out a bit, specifically tall things (such as HUGE radio towers or even smoke stacks from a power plant), but skyscrapers are fine. Maybe its tall skinny structures.

We were out looking at houses the other day, and found this development that not only had a huge radio tower right in the front of the development, but also had a clear view of the coal power plant miles away. Yikes.

I don't get freaked out the point I can't see them at all or go crazy, it just makes me feel odd inside, like I don't like it very much.

Anyone else get this?

it's not a phobia for me, but whenever i look up or am at the top of a tall building, my wee wee gets scared and starts to tingle.

You could attempt to assess your thoughts and determine what it is that raises your anxiety about them.

If it were me I'd guess that I'd generalized my fear of heights to those structures, since I realize that IF I were to climb them they'd arouse that fear.

had a really good friend who had an irrational fear of sharks... could barely handle being around public pools...

also knew a girl with a clown phobia... she blamed it on watching It at a very young age.

I laugh at your phobia.

Maybe I just lack empathy, but I just can't wrap my head around phobias. Tyra Banks has a phobia of dolphins. You'd think that that one would be rather easy to avoid altogether. But no, she decided to dedicate a whole show to confronting it. God I'd love to run her over in a van full of dolphins.

I'm frightened by bees. There's something about flying insects (inescapable) with venomous stingers out to get you.

I've never been stung though.

holy sh!t...i experience the same feeling. It's weird. I know it's not real life...just a stupid character on a LCD screen. Yet when I jump off that cliff, I get a free falling sensation for a little bit until my char hits the ground. So weird.

Yeah, I sorta get a little uneasy when I think about swimming in the deep sea or just any body of water and I start imaging a whale or big sea creature is swimming near me.

Probably just as strange as my fear of being in the ocean, but being on a boat is fine.

I have nothing to fear except fear itself. It's a dangerous thing, because once there's the tiniest bit of fear, it just snowballs from there. I fear that tiny iota of fear, which at least doubles the amount of fear present. It just increases exponentially from there. About every 13.3 seconds I have another nervous breakdown, my hippocampus implodes, wiping out all short-term memory, and I reset. Then I wonder why I can't remember anything, which scares me just a bit, and 13.3 seconds later, it starts all over again.

Just typing this message took me about 12 days. Maybe I should be on Maury too.

I have something similar though it isn't really tall thin objects, more just large objects in general. I'm not sure what the phobia is called and I'm too lazy to look it up, though I know I don't have a full blown phobia.

I never go into any large bodies of water (lakes, oceans..etc.) I don't like mountains, or being in large open rooms. In rooms I feel like I'm being smashed onto the ground like there is 10x gravity or something. As long as I just look in front of me it isn't as bad. And with mountains or other large objects I feel like I am going to fall towards them.. Hah I can't even lay on my back and look at the sky or else I'll feel like I am going to fall into space lol very VERY weird feeling.

But other than that I got a pretty bad thing with spiders.. If I see one I'll seriously knock a granny over to get out of the room. Then I'll feel like I have spiders on me for like 5 minutes lol. Bad thing is it's getting worse as I get older.

Yeah phobias are weird though. Like that guy from 2 Fast 2 Furious, Tyrese whatever his name is. He has a phobia of owls. They had a scene in the movie where they had to shoot in front of a hooters billboard but he couldn't do it because he almost had a panic attack. He was also on the Tom Green show and Tom started to draw a picture of an owl and he freaked out and got up and threated to leave the show.

Yeah, I'm pretty much the same, except any deep large body of water freaks me out.
