My flex pipe on an 88 Toyota Celica was rusted and the car is loud so i need to get it replaced. They charged me $180 total for part and labor. 🙁

Yes, you got majorly ripped off....Unless that was the price to replace your entire exhaust system from the cat-back.

Did they at least use the grease gun and lube you up before they bent you over?

WOOOHOOO! My 1500th smart ass comment..... well maybe not smart. My 1500th ass comment...... errrr.....

LOL, unfortunately when you take your car into one of these places that sell only exhaust or brake parts only , guess what. They're going to nail you because that's how they stay in business. You're much better off at a Dealer or reputable independent repair shop in the long run.

If this is the center pipe between the cat and the muffler, you didnt really get raped if they really replaced it and didnt just spot weld the hole in it.....most imports can have an expensive flex pipe on them and figure labor will be pretty good, even though it should only take 15 minutes or so to take it off and put one on if they do it for a living...even with rust you just torch it off

Well actually GrandVizor
I was just trying to increase my post #'s the sneaky way by posting a worthless
reply.
(Just like this one & the one you did!)
See that gives me 2.
😉

Foriegn car parts can be expensive. That's probably about the going rate. Usually they replace from the converter back, so that's where the $$$ came into play.

I had a Mazda B2200 a few years back that cost $210 for an exhaust. My Jeep Cheroke cost $112. Go figure.
