Is this a new AIM feature?

Just noticed this about 15 minutes ago. Its at the bottom of everyone's info on my AIM, takes you to aol.com and you log in and it shows what everyone on your buddy list that is online at the time's away message and info.

Pretty cool I think, or did I just get totally owned by a new AIM virus?

Maybe you should read the post before you try replying to it. This is the profile box with that link at the bottom that was automatically added to everyone on my buddy list's info after I clicked it.

This seems legit to me, but I know how some of these worms are.

Screenshot of page it takes you to

Congratulations, but this shows up whether I use AIM, Terraim or Gaim, regardless of what client the other person is using, so it doesn't seem limited to only the official AIM client. All I know is I want it gone.

So it's not just me?

Did you click someone elses and then it showed up for every person on your buddy lists info?

Thats how it worked for me. I clicked one, logged in, than bam, it was in everyones.

I haven't clicked one of those links (actually, didn't even know about it until I saw this thread) and now everyone in my list has it in their profile. I'm assuming that it's a new AIM "feature" and the fact that "Buddy Info Page" is a menu item on aim.com seems to support that assumption.

looks like one of those virus/spam things

i'm assuming you talk about the link in your profile that says "less clicks use the away page"

Yes, that's what I'm talking about.

It appeared to be legit. Not sure what happened.

I dont see it on anyones message. I went to the site though and logged in, and I got the page. Still no links on people's away messages though.
