Well.. actually those air-to-air missles have a range of about 20 miles for a sidewinder and 40 miles for an AMRAAM (can't remember the name)... and something like 80 miles for a Phoenix. So, it isn't entirely impossible for it to have been lauched out of camera focal distance.

I still believe it was NOT a missile...

that missle would have been very long, even if it was moving fast and making streaks in the picture.
