is this a lack of memory

if i'm playing a cd and fullscreen the graphics (that stuff that comes with media player) the sound goes to s--t. does that sound like a memoryprob or proc.
i'm running a 1200 duron,256 meg ddr, k7s5a(on board sound). any ideas? jer

I would fault your video card or the onboard sound. Your processor and RAM are plenty for that, unless your video subsystem can't handle the graphics, in which case it would offload to your processor/RAM, which the onboard sound is already using.

That sounds like onboard sound problem. Newer drivers or different BIOS settings might fix it.

thanks folks, the vid card is a 32 meg ati, but i never installed the drivers because win xp seems to make it work fine. could it be i should install/update both the sound and vid drivers? jer
