If it's one of those "home inspectors" then you're probably right. Who knows WTF those guys do anyway except shine a flashlight on a few things and write up a report that states they are not responsible for anything they find or didn't find. And send you the bill of course.
If it's a state electrical/building inspector, they won't do it themselves but, they can certainly require that things be disassembled to get a look at what was done.
If it's a joint inspector, then fuck no, never dismantle a joint to inspect it. They only way to confirm is to spark it up and see what you got.
