I've always had trouble gaining, but now I finally did. I'm just wondering if I gained too much, or if I should go higher, or if I should just try to maintain.

I'm 150 pounds, and my height is about 5'5". I had quit the gym for a few months which is where I went from about 140 to about 150 but I recently started back up and plan to continue on, going about 4 times a week.

I eat semi healthy, but it could be better, too, so I can change that accordingly.

That completely depends on your goals. Are you trying to get stronger? Look better naked? Perform better at some sport? Just get healthier?

Mostly just stay healthier, and I don't want to be considered overweight as that is not good for the heart. Now most of what I gained is probably fat at this point which I will then burn and turn to muscle by working out so I'm thinking that will help.

What is your BF%? If you have like 45% BF then it be fail. If you have like 10% bf then you be good. It all depends on a few things we need to know if that was a good weight.

Weight isn't an efficient determining factor if you're healthy or not. You could be 5'5 150lbs with 30% bodyfat(skinny fat) or you could be 150lbs with 10%bf. In any case, since the 10lb weight gain was due to quitting the gym, I'm inclined to say it was an unhealthy[fat] gain.

Secondly, you don't pack on fat and convert it to muscle, that's not how the body works. If you wanted to gain muscle, you were supposed to continue going to the gym(lifting) and eat on a healthy caloric surplus(primarily proteins) so that your muscles grow(clean bulk). At this point, what you can practically do is either continue to gain weight by eating healthy and stay at the gym to pack on muscle or you can cut the fat(lose weight). See the fat loss sticky by SC for more in depth instructions.

150 might be healthy, but as others said can't really be sure just by that number. I still had a decent gut at 150, but I've never been a particularly muscular person even when I did a lot of exercise.

I don't have a measuring tape other then a construction one which is kinda rigid so I may of not got an accurate reading of waist size but I got 35inches, and with a formula I found online it says I have 21% body fat.

35" waist at that height is more than 21%

I think I was mid 20's (25-26%) 166 at 34 inches at one time and I am 5' 6"

so an even bigger waist at a lower weight and slightly lower height if I had to guess is like 32%

2/3 things equal than

higher waist = more BF
lower weight = more BF
lower height = more BF

Yeah, I am 156 right now at ~12% body fat. I'm 5'8" with a 30-31" waist. I would definitely not let myself go about 31".

Where are these height/weight/waist body fat calculators? I'd be interested just to get a rough estimate for myself.

Last time I got checked out, I was 17% body fat. I'm about 5'6" and around 160lbs. I have a lot of muscle bulk though.
