Yeah that's a locust and if I remember the colorations that's a "gregarious" locust. You should probably kill it.

Grasshoppers don't have the yellow\black coloration.

Do a google for grashopper under images. The first picture that comes up is almost the same as what aphex questioned about.

Check the shape of the head and the markings on the legs and abdomen they do not match your locust

Yeah, I've been looking... :(

I can't find anything, actually that matches the OP, and it doesn't appear to be a locust. I retract my earlier statement.

I've been reading and it seems that grasshoppers and locusts only differ in behavior. Although I did read one site that said locusts often have red coloration in their wings... which the insect in question does have.
