Is this a good use of cloning?

It's not a good use of cloning since it generates too much waste products. The advantage is of course that it's very easy to keep those organs 'good', since they're in a living body, but I think that we'll better concentrate on growing individual organs.

Besides, a headless Human hasn't yet all organs which are needed (e.g. the cornea).

If I am not mistaken it takes the brain to tell the rest of the body to function. Without the brain I don't see how they would keep the heart pumping. Also without a head how will the body get O2. No mouth to breathe.

I know, I don't understand that myself. Perhaps they are developed in some sort of artificial womb type of environment?

Probably not. Skin can be used to replace skin on scar/burn/etc victims, blood is always in demand, the organs of course are used, so all that's left are bones (minus bone marrow), blood vessels (minus blood), and the extraneous external stuff (nails, hair).

Ugh...just like in Frankenstein (the book). Drasticly changed my opinion of cloning...you're bound to screw up a time or two, and what do you do with the living breathing "mistakes"...

They can use an iron lung type thing or a breathing tube directly to the lungs. As for the brain thing, it's not necesary...they can probably use a machine to send the correct electric stimulations to the heart muscles to keep it pimping, although all this would take a lot of work.

They can just hook this body up to an heart-lung machine, which takes over the tasks of both the heart and the lungs. But maybe some kind of pace-maker would be better if the heart must be suitable for transplantation. No one needs a heart that is too underdeveloped to function properly.

If you can keep an individual 'alive' while braindead, i'm sure you can do that to one without a head.

I dont care what you say. we NEED to start cloning people simply because it is COOL.

I think we oughta give up this notion of human cloning and move in to full scale genetic engineering and we can start creating stronger, more efficient and healthier super humans.. ah.. the possibilities :D
