Is this a good psu for asus sli?

Is this a good psu for an asus sli with 2 bfg 6800gt's. I am trying to stay at about $100 for the psu. Also do I have to buy a psu with pci-e connectors?

Why on God's green earth you would need 560watts, I don't know, but yes, I have a similiar model with lower wattage. They seem to work perfectly, and are fairly quiet.

You could definately do better.
22amps on the +12V is really low for a 580 watt power supply.

If you're going to spend $100 you're probably much better off getting an Antec, OCZ, or Enermax.

I would consider this power supply.

It has a total of 33amps on the 12V line.
For running an SLI setup I'd want around 30amps.

I'd also consider this.

A good PSU can last you through one (two if your lucky) upgrades, so why not go for a big dog, that way in the future when we're all running double, dual core cpus, and three vid cards (*wallet yells "please nooo!!!"*) nitro will still be livin' large on his 560! :laugh:

You might to consider looking at power supplies from Antec, Enermax, or UltraProducts. The thermaltake you are looking at has only 22A on the +12v rail which is very important for power hungry Nforce 4 Sli boards. All the manufactures listed above offer power supplies for about the same price with better +12V ratings. If i had to recommend one I would say the Antec True550 is a great choice for $100. It has 30A on the +12V rail. Newegg lists it as 24A on the +12V, it's a typo, check here. (Also, I own one)

Check the fortron blue storm 500 watt. Stronger on the 12v(where the SLI cards will draw).

100 bux if I recall correctly.

it is a version 2 so it has pci-e plugs but is 15 amps seem low?

It has two 15amp rails.
So there's a total of 30amps.

It's probably 15 for the cpu, and 15 for the rest.
