My dad's been using the manual reel push behind but he's getting older so I thought I might surprise him with something useful.

if he's getting older you might want to get him a self-propelled one.

or you could just do the lawn yourself 😀

Personally, I don't like a rear bagger, or at least one that won't discharge out the side, if you take the bag off.

Edit: You better make sure your dad doesn't prefer the reel type mower. They do shear the grass, rather than clubbing it, like a rotary mower does. A powered reel type is going to cost a bit more.
