Is this a good guitar for a beginner

I am looking at picking up a guitar to start learning with an know nothing about them. Not knowing how much I might play I was wanting to keep cost somewhat low. I came across this
THREAD in the FS/FT colum and was wondering if this would make a good starter guitar.

a squire is an ok starter guitar. But you will quickly outgrow it if you learn at a normal pace. Personally, I think a first guitar should always be a acoustic guitar. You will hear your errors more on an acoustic and thus be a better player. Plus the harder string tension helps build up the muscles you need.

Any you would recommend. I like the "play anywhere" capability of the acoustics as well.

What do you mean "play anywhere"? All guitars are like that. Just because you have an electric does not mean you have to plug into to play and just because you have an acoustic does not mean you cannot plug into an amp. Really, for a beginner, just get something to learn on. You will not be able to hear the difference as you will spend the majority of your time getting pissed because you cannot hit the right strings or find the right chords.

I would recommend an acoustic guitar first. You won't have to plug it in and you can play it anywhere. Plus you'll build up your finger strength.

start on acoustic! its harder but worth it.
unless you never really learn how to play, but if that happens, then you just sucks

When I decided to buy a guitar to learn on I went with this one.
Unfortunately I still havn't actually taken the time to sit down and learn how to play it. Maybe one day. 😉
