Is this a good deal on DVD+Rs?

I haven't purchased DVD+Rs in a while. I usually just purchase a small pack from walmart when I need them. But I have a large project coming up and need 100+ dvd's. I found this:

Here

It is 100 for $17.99 with free shipping. I am not sure what the current going price on these are so is that a pretty good price to pay for them?

anybody know what the difference is between dvd+ and dvd-?

i believe one is for taping shows, then deleting, then retaping. and the other is for burning movies.

tried my damnest, but i couldn't find anything.

Verbatims are your best deal. MCC is second best to Taiyo Yuden. Riteks are ehh decent, but I still pick MCC. CMC Magnetics is butt wiping material although sometimes you run into some decent stuff, but never GOOD.

No, double layer DVDs say, DL. DVD+R DL would be double layer. Look on Google and Wikipedia for the difference between DVD-R and DVD+R, there really isn't much.

You are think r/w...+ and - are just technologies...neither are really better or worse over the other.

However, it's important that the DVD player can handle them...esp Sony branded players. Some will only play +R or -R but not both.

In computers most drives read and write both fine.

I like supermediawarehouse.com

From Wikipedia's DVD+R page:
However, because the DVD-R format has been in use since 1997, it has had a five-year lead on DVD+R. As such, older or cheaper DVD players (up to 2004 vintage) are more likely to favor the DVD-R standard exclusively[4], and when creating DVDs for distribution (where the playing unit is unknown or older) the DVD-R format would normally be preferable.
Keep in mind that not even that holds true all the time. My XBOX (still have it, with a Philips drive, took the modchip out though and sold it to a friend) would not play a DVD-R backup under any circumstances. My friend and now roommate's XBOX had a Thomson drive, I think, and it would only play DVD-R backups. Pretty annoying. I've yet to encounter any new equipment that refused to play one format vs. the other.

For technologies: Always get DVD+R's as a general rule. You can set the booktype to DVD-ROM unlike DVD-R's so the compatibiliity is actually better. They also have better error correction methodology.

For DVD+R's, I'd recommend Taiyo Yuden DVD+R's. That's usually the company that Verbatim DVD's are using, so why not go directly to the source?

Of course, I'm kind of a CD/DVD freak, so just ignore my insistance on the very best media.
