I'm thinking to order one, but I'm wondering if anyone can find me a better steal on a laptop. I don't care about the speed of it, I just want a GREAT deal for the speed it has.

i think it's cheaper at bestbuy after rebates, however this is a p.o.s
also bestbuy has a similar setup on an emachines celeron laptop, same specs @749.99 after rebate

Any recommendation then? I want to spend under $800, or even under $600. What kind of specs can I expect? Any direct links to buying such a laptop?

I do not need features. I just need a computer for Internet, Email, Light Photoshop, and those kinds of things. That's why the Toshiba I linked seemed fine.

I wont play games or DVD's or burn anything.

try to get at least an athlon xp notebook (better on the battery than a celeron) and give up on finding one under $800, unless you get a used one and on a laptop that is a worse idea than a celeron

that guy is an A$$

looks like he just bought those laptops from best buy last week for $499 after rebate.

You're a few days late and a few hundred dollars short. Besides, hot deals is for...hot deals. Try off topic, but everyone there is an ass anyways 😉

either way, please remove the ebay link. they're not allowed on these forums.

i have a feeling that the OP is somehow related to the seller. the price on this lappy (brand new) is closing @ only @ $750-$800 on ebay. and this guy is selling for $900.

u want a cheaper price on this laptop? do a search for less than $850 and u'll find tons (including BIN). check: auction id 3485095217 if u don't believe me.

That Presario at Circuit City is a solid buy. Athlon XP-M, much better vid card (not sharing system RAM). The only major downside I see is that it's only USB 1.1. Why are manufacturers still putting that in systems?
