I am trying to figure out where I can get the best deal on these items. If this isn't a good deal where can I get a better deal?

This is not the place to ASK for deals.

however. pricewatch.com is a good place to get the prices.

you do the math.

Consider the MSI K7T Pro2A is $125 shipped at FS forum, the 1GHz Tbird for $223 is not a hot deal when you can get it for $185 shipped (check pricewatch)

I would seriously recommend visiting site for step thermo dynamics... check their internet specials and also their ram and video card prices... they have the K7T pro2A for $99 but you have to buy the cpu and cooling system combo from them... best of luck finding good prices.. :)

What a coincidence... that is where I found the $348 price. Now though I am looking at pricewatch and have found a couple of better prices at Monarch Comp. and United Micro. I have heard a few bad things about Monarch previously but nothing about United Micro. Has anyone had personal experience with Step? I am kinda weary about their cooling system, it seems VERY expensive.

I bought that exact combo from UnitedMicro a week and a half ago fro $319. Must mention Pricewatch. It's even cheaper now. So no, that isn't a good deal.

Well.. shortly put.. they are right for the most of their claims... I am running a server on KODIAK 7000 colling system... and in 2+ months it hasn't crashed once... and i have the cpu oc's from 1000 to 1300+ ... :) not bad for having just 2 fans in the case.. one front and one back... :)

First off.. the Low prices that are going on right now with non DDR MB and ram is due to the hipe about DDR... second... these are towards the end of their generation and probably as much refined as they will get.. and DDR MB and ram are first Gen.. so they still wont have optimization and maybe even a few bugs or problems to go with them... do you remmber the first gen of the KT133 MB?? the stability wasn't optimized till 2nd or i would say 3rd gen boards... ofcourse bragging rights is another story.. but if you are looking for great prices and Superiour stability.. i would reccomend sticking with the NON DDR MBs... :)

my two cents..

My best friend purchased a combo from Monarch Computers (MSI K7T Pro2-A & 1k mhz athlon) for $327 + shipping on Friday, December 15. As of Tuesday, December 19, it had not yet shipped. He fired an email explaining the importance of the upcoming holiday, and it was going to be a gift for his family. Monarch Computers sent it Federal Express at their expense. I have heard some questions about this company's shipping policies, but I witnessed first hand how they came through. The combo comes with a 3 year warrenty and an excellent Tai-sol heatsink and ballbearing fan.

I assembled his system with the Antec sx1030b. All I can say is..... WOW!!!! My first system I ever assembled. I had a BLAST!!
