Is this a good deal for a 6800gt?

It doesn't matter...there aren't any real-world speed differences between the two anyway... Just buy whatever your motherboard requires 😛

Or if this is for a new build...keep in mind that PCI-E 6800GT's are still quite a bit more expensive than their AGP counterparts...

In terms of current video cards, no. PCI-E does indeed provide quite a bit more bandwidth than AGP and PCI, but video cards don't need or use that much bandwidth right now...they don't even come close to saturating the AGP8x bus, really. Basically, a 6800GT AGP will perform the same as a 6800GT PCI-E...same card, different interface.

THat looks pretty good, although I would reccomend that you get a different psu than the one that is included in the case. Generic psu's are not a good idea as they can mess up and destroy you computer. I'd get a 400 watt psu from a brand like antec, enermax, fortron, seasonic, etc.

Yes, although you may want to get a 3200 instead of the 3500, as it can easily overclock to 4000+ speeds. Also, if you do get a 3500, get a venice instead of a winchester (unless there is a large difference in price)

Get the a Nf4 motherboard which h as PCI-e and then buy the X800XL for 260 which is completly equal to the 6800gt peformance wise for less.

PCI-e 6800GT cards are still around $400.

ur motherboard supports PCI-E...dont go and buy the 6800GT AGP...search for the PCI-E GT for a similar price although i doubt u can find any below 300 yet...get the XL since those are around 250 nowadays

The massive copper heatsink cools great, and the fan is extremely quiet. I could not hear it in my computer. Unfortunately, I think I had some quirky hardware compatibility problem, so I had to put my 9500 Pro back in. Now I have to build a new computer just to make use of my 6800GT (well, I wanted to build a new one for a while now anyway).

🙁
seriuosly, that sucks. i even happended to get a hp oem computer that can use a 6800gt!! wow i got lucky with that agp slot with the origianl fx 5200. get a better card though.
