Not with that video card.

I did a similar upgrade, from a PIII-850 to a P4C. You have every right to be excited. If you haven't bought it yet, I'd get a 2.4C instead of a 2.8. Or if you get the 2.8, get some PC3700 RAM instead. Actually, in some ways my old system performed better but it was a different type of build. It was all SCSI. Now, go out and buy UT2k3, BF1942, and a couple other 3-D games. Also, you might want to get a MoBo with a few less "issues" than GB is infamous for. Stability was the main thing for me. On my 850 I'd crash and just say, oh well, just too much for my computer. I don't say that now.

No you got taken, the old one is much better.

Speakers: IIRC, the Altec 221's were relatively low end for 2.1. You may want to look for other speakers. I got some ATP3's the other day, and my first impression is that the bass is weak (though I can equilizer it up).

BTW, if you wanna do games, you may wanna downgrade some other stuff to up your vid card a bit (9500 Pro maybe).

I would also opt for a 2.4c instead of the 2.8, with that cash for for a 9700NP.

Stick with your 3200, you can do some hefty overclocking... 250FSB 5:4 ratio. Chances are you can run a 260 on the 5:4, your memory should make it.

But,

Way to brag in disguise...

😛
