Is this a feature of V.92 Modems

Since changing the internal modem on my office machine from a V.90 AMR one to a V.92 PCI one I have received a message a couple of times saying something like "You have just ignored an incoming call...Click OK".

I was wondering if a featrure of V.92 (provided it's support by ISP & your modem) is that it can detect if someone is trying to call you. I have tried to call my dial up line to test this but it doesn't seem to do it.

Or is there something simister going on?

There's an option in the connection settings or the properties of the modem itself to block call waiting. I think V.90 also supports it, but not all modems (and drivers) are the same.

v.92 modems allow you to 'pause' your modem connection if you want to answer and incoming call.

You need your ISP to support this option though.
