Is this a bad circuit in my house, or comp related?

ok, so the other night I'm asleep, when I get awoken by this really loud buzzing noise, almost identical to what a flourescent light sounds like when you first turn it on, only louder....this naturally startles the heck out of me...I look over towards my computer (which I turn off at night), and the speaker power light is on, even though i definetly turend off the power on them before bed, and sure enough the volume is all the way down...which means the power for the speakers is off...yet that light is on...stupid thing won't turn off, even if i turn the volume up, then all the way down again...so anyway, this has happened 3 or 4 more times over the last couple weeks....I have NO idea what it's from...could there be residual power coming out my PSU causing my speakers to buzz or something? Anyone have any ideas? Cause it keeps waking me up at night and startling the hell out of me, it's starting to get annoying...same thing every time, loud buzzing like a flourescent light turning on, and then a couple minutes later the light on the speakers clicks on.

Maybe its ghosts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A very similar thing happens to me when I use my shredder in the same room.
Try a different outlet. You may have to get a new set of speakers as the AC adpator or power switch is going goofy.

could be....haha first thingni thought is ghosts with the people who've died in my house haha...the thing is, the first time it happened, there was this loud noise, like when a power drill is drilling a screw into a piece of wood too hard, and the drill bit jumps off the head of the screw

Definetely aliens.

Why don't you put your whole setup on a switch that you can turn off completely and see if that solves it. Did this just start happening all of a sudden? No changes?

r u using a KVM switch ?
I had a set of speakers which I thought were bad, because they would constantly buzz.
I turned them on and even at volume all the way down, they would buzz real loud, and when in use.
then I got a new set of speakers (logitech z3) and they did the same thing, I unplugged them from the KVM switch and directly into the sound card and Wha la!
just my thought, prolly not your problem though
