Guess you don't know people that know TVs then, eh?

It goes DLP>LCD>Plasma. Find people that really know about TVs, and you'll find that's the case.

AND, it's not just about picture quality..there are other variables (and picture quality in itself has multiple).

Quoted for stupidity.
Take a look around in avsforum and you will find it completely reveresed.
Plasmas have the best PQ period although LCDs are now catching up.

Quoted for stupidity for not paying attention to what I said.

Idiot.

Thank you sir. Aren't you the smartest.

Here is a quote from you that said what I was referring to.

I disagree on the best image quality..I'd steer away from a Plasma and get an LCD..if you have the extra room, DLP is an even better choice.

In response to plasma having the best PQ.

LCDs have better resolution for the price, are lighter, do better in bright light and consume less energy but when it comes to just PQ Plasmas do a much better job with better blacks, color reproductiion and contrast levels.

Don't know much about Philips, but Panasonic makes the best plasma's for the money (from what I've read).

Actually you apparently do not know anything about TV's.

Please visit www.avsforum.com for an education in PQ.

You have LCD above Plasma - which is absolutely ridiculous.

Apart from better contrast due to its ability to show deeper blacks, plasma screens typically have better viewing angles than LCD. You tend to see some brightness and color shift when you're on too far of an angle with LCDs, while a plasma's picture remains fairly solid. LCD's use a backlight which shows through the panel and that's why you don't have deep blacks like Plasma.

LCD's offer a higher resolution, but at reasonable distances you cannot tell the difference between 1080i and 1080p.

DLP suffers from field of vision, diminishing bulb brightness, bulb failure, artifacting and blockiness in some units. That doesn't even touch on the color wheel creating the rainbow effect and screendoor effect.

Take a look at DPLTVReview.com

http://www.dlptvreview.com/dlptv/plasmatelevision.html

Plasma wins in Contracts, Clarity, Color Saturation/Accuracy, Video Playback. Brightness is a wash.

This is from a DLP TV Review sight!!!

But let?s take your word for it...rather than listening to people with REAL knowledge on the subject.

Feel free to go look around AVSForum.com for some enlightenment.
