Is this 3dmark2001 score up to par?

New PC: P4 3.06ghz, 800 fsb, 512mb DDR, Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB, DirectX 9.0b

Clicked Benchmark and after 21 tests it gave me 15,100 3dmarks. I understand this software doesn't produce any accurate prediction of future gaming performance, but it does help me test OC'ing and things. It scored a 14,500 before my 9800 was flashed to 9800 pro.

That sounds high enough, but why don't you go up to 2003 and try that, Your card has more functionality then what 2001 can do. To test your card further I would use 2003, or play an intense game.

My score is higher with Barton 2500@2800+, 512Ram and 9700pro. It seems to me that it should be a little bit higher.

Hmm. Do you run all the default test settings? Did you change any driver info, etc? I'm running stock everything.

800 fsb, PC3200 ram... it would be 533 if I were using slower ram... that's about the best I can describe it.

Well you are the 5th person I've known who tried over clocking the 9800 non-pro and ended up with little improvement in return.

Well, apparently there isn't much a performance difference between Pro and non-pro anyway... it's a great card. I am at 8x AGP with fast writes off.. I'm going to disable truform and vsynch and see what happens

Agreed.

So your cpu is running at 533 and the memory at 800mhz, that's different.

I got 14,802 with a 2600+ (266fsb) 9700PRO 512 2100DDR, all at stock speeds. You should be in the high 15's low 16's stock. Check that V-sync is off by default, and check that it is not using AA/AF by default.

I got 15098 with my Athlon 2800+ (see specs below) all stock. I would expect more from your setup.

I also hit 5000+ in 3dmark03.

lol. Trueform and Vsync are no-no's when you want those high frame rates. The score did pretty damn well with trueform on though... maybe some game tests didn't call for any.

Tell us what it is without v-sync and truform. In fact, make sure every slider is all the way to the left. I got 17250 with my 9800pro stock and overclocked, I get around 18250. It's in my sig to compare if you want.

Yeah that score is definitley on the low side. Make sure you have aa, af, vsync, etc turned off, and then run 3dmark and let us know what score you get. I'm thinking you should be scoring up around 18k with your setup.
