Hi

I just bought a nice new setup, my rig is now.......

AMD XP2000 running at 1660mhz (I think!)
256MB DDR 333 CAS 2.0
Asus A7V333 + RAID
GE-FORCE 3

My 3dmark score is 7338

Is this any good?

Im very confused coz Ive always been an Intel man,,,,,till now :) and the setup and bios is all different. I dont know what speed to set the processor, what setup for the memory etc.......

Can anyone sooth my aching pc probs, If any?

Thx in advance

That seems awfully low. :( But what do I know. :-\

Did you compare it with other systems at madonion?

that does seem awefully low... I hate to be the 4in1 guy but here goes ;)

you're using a board with a Via chipset, so you should install the 4in1's from their website. From the oddities I've had myself as well as others, this applies for EVERY case. 98/etc... even windows xp (which is what I currently use...) you needed it more in 98SE but with these new boards you really do need it. I couldn't even get 3dmark2001SE to run properly before I installed them ! but I guarantee you it's the first thing I tried past bios settings/etc, and it cured it ;) As for the whole 'set' ...they have one release that works with all OSes nowadays and you can choose to only install the AGP stuff (as I did)

here's a link to the 4in1's page

hope it helps, please let me know how it works...because I am looking into buying the A7V333-raid and I don't want probs with my MSI GF4 Ti4400 ...(I would like to order tonight but time is running out ;) especially with seeing your issue heh)

right now I'm on an Asus P3V4X (Via apollo pro 133a I believe) so you know... it had worked fine without the 4in1s with a geforce1, but once I got the new one and tried the new 3dmark... probs.

ack :( hmm, memory settings configured properly in your BIOS? it may not default to 333 settings... not sure what to say, sounded like a driver thing :( I'll be busy the rest of the day but I'll check back later...

I cant seem to find anything on the bios to let me choose the ram setting to DDR 333.

What mhz should I set the cpu to as well. is it 1666mhz like what the bios sets?

The DDR is 270 because it's set to be 1:1 to the CPU,
so when your CPU run at FSB 135 so do the memory( DDR make it 135x2=270)

I'm not sure about your mobo but if there is a 3:4 setting for the memory than
it should run at 133 CPU : 166 memory (make thosex2 because of DDR)

Hmmm I found a similar setting, that was 1:1 and I set it to 3:4 and its made no difference :(

Im going to have to cry some more.....
