Is THEZEB.com a safe place to buy car audio stuff?

need to know if theyre reputable. has anyone had problems with them. i was about to order from ETRONICS.com but found out later from epinions that they were a really bad online store. one weird thing though is that there arent any reviews on THEZEB on EPinions. so... are they any good? TIA! 🙂
 
About a year ago, I almost ordered from THE ZEB as welll, but after reading many opinions about how they suck the big one, and getting many emails from folks verifying the same, I didn't order from them.

A snazzy website can be misleading...it almost got me. I love lots of detailed pics of electronic components. They had a lot, and they almost had my money too.

Sounddomain.com is a good place to buy car audio gear from. I will tell you this:

1. They have excellent prices
2. They are an internet reseller: i.e. they have NO stock on anything: you order, they order, then ship it to you.
3. Their customer service sucks
4. They did not rip me off at all: I got what I ordered, in fine shape, for an excellent price
5. Expect to wait anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks after you order to receive you shipment
6. You will need to nag them as to the status of your order: they have your money, they are in no rush to fill your order
7. Please see numbers 1 thru 6


And there you have it, my friend. As brutally honest as it gets.
 
Dang! Just when i thought i was getting a real deal.... :| Second time around. First with Etronics now this. Where did you read reviews on them MichaelD? I really wanted those Audiobahn components... part as to why i thought they were alright was because Audiobahn had THEZEB listed as an authorized internet reseller. They had some great deals on their 2001 line-up. Dang! 🙁 Thanks for the info MichaelD.

2 - por...1 - against. If you want, I can find about 50 more who are -pro. I would use them. Also, heard good about woofersetc.com, Sounddomain is good too. As with any website, some have had bad experiences and some have had good.
 
I believe GregShin is the one who comes into various car audio threads and plugs TheZeb. PM him and he'll give you the name of someone who will "take care of ya".

I ordered speakers from Etronics and they came fairly quickly. The only problem was they didn't fit my car. So I RMA'd them. Etronics policy is to not refund shipping when you RMA something. It also took several weeks for the credit to appear on my credit card. I'd buy from Etronics again, but only if I was absolutely sure I wasn't going to return the merchandise if it didn't fit my needs

Not sure if my input makes a difference or if it's too late, but...

I ordered an Infinity 12"DVC Perfect sub from thezeb. I remember I was not pleased with them. The price was good but I had to nag them for a LONG LONG LONG time and I had a bunch of problems before I finally got my sub. But I did finally get my sub.

Um...it's a risk, but I guess it's worth it. Maybe they are shaping up now.
 
i know that sound domain used to price match 110% if you found a lower price too....

SD is great! i ordered from them all the time!
 
I've heard nothing but good about etronics. I'm surprised there are people saying that it's a bad place. I personally have never had a problem with them and their prices are good. oh well..
 
i ordered a home theater system in a box from etronics around christmas time.. no problems at all. and alot of people over on, home theater forum bring them up when someone is looking for a place to buy.

and alot of retailers nowadays (like newegg) dont pay for shipping back when you RMA something.. even if it was their error.
