It's o simple performance. Unless a blower card performs better why recommend anyone get it.
I'm thinking of all who defend the FE blower cards. If they see that it's needed then they have to say the same here. P10 blower edition will fill the same market need just in a lower price bracket.

Blowers=standard OEM and for everyone. With 150W a blower is needed.

I'm saying for all the people who said that fe blower sucked, this isn't great either. I don't care what brand you get get a real cooler from an aib.

I like the g1 for Nvidia and sapphire for amd?

Again, there isn't a universal solution for everyone. Small cases make sense for a blower cooler. Other cases may not.

For a standard ATX case, with adequete airflow, the fan-style is better. But not everyone has that. :)

I would look toward Sapphire Nitro as the potential standard bearer for quality for next gen AMD. It was for the 300 and Fury (replacing the already outstanding Tri X) series. But who knows. AIB reveals will be interesting to be sure.

Exactly. I have a SFF case and the blower types stay way cooler in that sort of configuration. I had a triple fan AIB cooler in there before and unless I had all sort of extra case fans it didn't work well. Helps that the heat for the blower is exhausted directly UP as well. AIB coolers just kinda push the air in random directions.

Yeah. A lot of mini-ITX cases push the exhaust directly into the side of the case. For those, a blower is generally better. As with most things, different solutions are often better for different situations/configurations. :)

I got MiniITX, and a blower is needed there. Sure you can mock up some other solution, but its not going to be pretty. Unless its water based perhaps. You want the heat out and away directly.

The FE 1080 card sucks, but I wouldn't call all blower cards pointless based on it. The best card I ever owned was the reference 5870.. that thing is still running as a hand me down in my relative's computer. And it literally has thousands of hours of gaming on it. Also his computer's airflow sucked so this really helped him.

If the card isn't thermally throttled with it, and it's quiet.. I don't see anything wrong with a reference blower. I like the look and versatility of it in fact.

Listed a few days ago in a chinese store:

254mm x 127mm x 39mm
Power: 150W
Core frequency: 1288MHz (XFX model)

That's the XFX reference model, others should be the same.

Both 470 and 480 should be that. Its just a tad more than the old GTX670 with the same design type. About 1½cm longer.

The vertical mounting in that case is better suited for blowers too.
