Is there way to use my PC's microphone/headsead to make a phone call? I do have a modem with voice capability...

I figured that the software that came with the modem would allow me to use my headphones but for some reason it(the software) only dials for me and I have to use my regular phone to talk/listen.

Is there a setting I need to change so I can use my headset?

Thanks.

You might try www.dialpad.com You can make calls anywhere for free. I have used them with mixed results sometimes there is an echo effect and some lag I think it depends on net traffic and traffic on their servers but it is totally free so what can you expect

I don't need the calls to be free from tolls I just want to be able to use the headset so the calls can be "hands-free".

My 'net connection is way too slow to get a decent connection using dialpad and other...

thanks again, edprush

You just need a headset thingy for your normal phoneline, Their is a catalog that sells that stuff.

It can be expensive since they sell mostly to biz. and call center type of clients

I am amware of the "headset thingy" but I am trying to find a way to use my PC to dial the number I am calling and also use the headset to talk/listen.

This will be cheaper than me going out and buying a separate headset telephone.

thanks.
