Is there supposed to be an extended version of LOTR:Return of the King coming out?

Well, is there? I'm debating whether to wait for the extended version or to just buy the standard version out now.

How could they possibly extend the most drawn out movie ever made?

Yeah, last I knew they were still working on it and I think it adds over an hour of new scenes, if you can believe it. That'll make watching the trilogy around a 14 hour experience. Last I heard, maybe christmas-ish the extended will be out, but nothing has been set in stone.

There definitely is one. And last I heard, it was going to come out in November (like the other 2 extended versions did).

For some reason I was thinking August but you are probably right about November.

BTW, there's really no point in waiting. The DVD has a coupon on front for stuff you can basically get for free. I got a 10 pack of AAA Duracell batteries, a 6 pack of Act 2 Movie Theater popcorn, and RotK Widescreen for $16.xx after tax in TN.

That's a pretty damn good deal.
