Does it really exist or is it BS? What do you think it means? Does it only exist between family members?

Don't confuse "unconditional love" with "I'll spend the rest of my life with you unconditionally".

Unconditional love is a myth. That is because humans are naturally self-biased and the human heart is so deceitful that one can fool himself into thinking that he is loving unconditionally, when in fact he has all kinds of conditions.

awwwwwwwwwww :)

It exists...to me, its when no matter what happens, no matter what hurts, you still offer up 100% of you. I think it is what "true love" is all about.

I think it means that you love a person no matter what she is or becomes...and I think this is BS.

Unconditional seems like a strong word. Would someone love the other person even if s/he killed his/her family, burned down the house and took the dog?

I think the vast majority of relationships are based on a condition that things will reasonably stay the same.

Unconditional love means never having to say you're sorry...
about getting it in her hair.

I've heard there's a lady on an island around India somewhere that has beeh hugginh people for a hugn number of years. She's hugged millions of people and apparently she is a living example of unconditional love. I hear too that people often have profound experiences from her hug, but I don't know. I don't know where she is.

however, how many times do you see someone defense another person's acts, no matter how horrible? how often do you defend the actions of a friend/SO/etc.? Unconditional love means that you can't see or you see past the bad in a person.
