is there such thing as a quiet computer case?

mine doesnt make a sound, unless i drop it. once it talked to me, it said, damn, youre ugly.

the fans are the noise, along with hdd, and the fan in the psu.

as far as muffling it, it be easier to keep in mind the above line.

I got one and can't hear a thing. Especially if you get it set up with a chipset and video card cooler. The only thing you can hear is the hard drive and your cdrom.

they tend to be very quiet when they are off 😀

If it has a thicker steel casing to it and less fans ( but then this means less cooling 🙁 ), then it will be a bit quieter)

Can be a bit annoying when you have a small nuclear power station running next to you when watching dvd's.

I have the Epox 8K7A with an Antec SX830. I have it sitting under my desk, and it's pretty quiet. I can hear the CDRW spinning up, but the fan noise is pretty low, and I never hear the HD (7200 rpm).

I got it at Fry's. They had it on sale for $80, with 2 case fans. If you have one in town, go check them out. They don't sell online.
