Is there such thing as a couch raiser?

I have a nice couch that's very plush and awesome but it's too low and would like to 'raise' it.

The seats are very plush, so when you sit and get up, it's bit tough and feels like you're getting up from a ditch.

What's a good solution to raising it? I think I saw some plastic sticks with adhesives that help the couch glide better which also gives about an inch raise.

Are there anything that can raise the couch by a good half foot or so safely?

What does the contact with the ground look like? If it sits on the ground at 4 points, pretty much any bed raiser will work methinks.

That's what I did in college, and it worked fantastically well.

I have a feeling the OP is looking for something that looks a bit nicer.

I found these

And they're terribly ugly and expensive... hmm.

I also notice most risers are designed to socket into legs. The sofa doesn't have any legs. It's flat bottom makes contact to the floor.

They also only support 350 lbs, so you won't want to use it with a 3 person couch (or even a love seat that might be occupied by two adult males).

I really don't think you're going to find anything that looks great.

This sucks, I oughta turn myself into a handy man and buy some nice wood blocks + paint then nail them into the base of the couch.

That's what I'd do. Problem is, you gotta make sure the base is wide enough so they won't fall over. They should probably be at least as wide as they are tall.

Why not do cement blocks with a decorative piece of fabric pinned around the bottom of the couch?

Build a sub. Not even kidding.

It'd even make you feel the bass, too. If there were ever a more perfect application for a horn or tapped horn sub, this is it.

I don't know how well off you are but if you can afford to spend an extra $5,000 per month you could hire 4 little people at minimum wage to hold up the couch for 8 hours per day.

They also wouldn't work for my three person bed... you know, for all the threesomes I have...

Depending on how nice you want it to look, you might want to go to home depot, buy some wood and make a frame to stand your couch on.

You can easily cover this frame with a scrap of carpeting to match your carpet, or cover it with wood and stain it to match if you have wood floors.

Cinder blocks will work, but they aren't very pretty. With wood you'll be able to test it out and get a more exact height that you want.

how about just some blocks of 4x4 or 6x6. just screw them to the couch to make legs.

Just the cemet blocks and get a covering that runs around the bottom, or make one yourself from some cloth.
