Is there such a thing as the "gay" vote?

ntdz- Is the gay population really 5-10% of the population or are you making that up? Just because 4% of voters are gay (CNN poll) doesn't mean 5% of the population is. Can you link me a statistic please, i'm interested because that seems like a really high percentage to me.

Politicians try not to discuss gay issues because Republicans know they aren't going to gain any votes even if they tried and democrats look like they are appealing to special interests and not the 'average' American.

So, does this mean that when you say 50% of men voted for the democrat party, they are real men or gay men or both?

its generally accepted to be 1 in every ten people based on studys by Dr Kinsey in the 1950`s, though much of his work was discredited the figure of 1 in 10 being homosexual is seen as relatively accurate increasing to 1 in 5 if bisexuality is factored in. also bare in mind that this was the 1050`s so many people may have lied to kinsey in which case the figures may be higher still.

based on kinseys figures your looking at around 3 million gay people in the USA and over half a billion globally (620 million to be exact). Not exactly something id call "unnatural" or "deviant" behaviour given how many gay people actually do exist 🙂
