is there such a thing as a good $200 19" monitor??

I'm thinking of investing in a new monitor, and the only thing that I know for sure is I want a 19". I prefer a dot pitch of around .25, if not better. But I haven't kept up with any monitor prices lately. What can you guys suggest?? Thanks for any feedback.

The Samsung 955DF is a very good 19" monitor for the money. You can find it online for around $200 before shipping. Try TechOnWeb, they have very good prices on monitors and are a good company to deal with from what I've heard.

I have a 955DF and it's an outstanding value as long as you don't need higher resolutions (although I believe it will do 1280X1028 at 75hz). I run mine at 1024x768 and 100hz.

If you want something really good and you are willing to take some risks, you may check for a refurbished monitor... I can get a Dell P1110 (Trinitron 21") at $205. Sounds fine for me =)

Additionally, you can get a Coupon from Samsung for an additional $50 off.

Edit: oops.. link didn't work. Anyway, just go tohttp://www.samsungusa.com > Products > Monitors > Promotion

Edit II:

<< do not try to run that 955df at 1280 x 1024 or you will be looking at a 60hz refresh >>

According to Samsung the monitor will refresh from 60Hz up to 80Hz at that resolution [1280 x 1024] and it will do 1600 x 1200 @ 65Hz, but that could induce neausea. 😛

Also, while not a Trinitron, KDS's new Xtreme Flat monitors look pretty nice. The 19" monitor can be had for just under $200. Specs look pretty decent with a .25mm dot pitch and a max resolution of 1600 x 1200 @ 75hz. Also, you get that awesome three year KDS warranty. Check it out here.

🙂

Now this sounds really interesting. Where can you 'obtain' this deal, and what kinda warranty comes with it? Any thumbs up from people who has bought this??
