My GF
My Mother
My siblings
My nieces and nephews

I would risk my life for a LOT of people.

In fact, I have. I'm a veteran.

My wife and children definitely.

Not sure about anybody else. It really depends on the circumstances...

I noticed no mention of the husband.

No, and I wouldn't want him to die for me, either. Not sure why that seems weird, but to each his or her own!

I don't see any problem in that. Your children are 25+ years younger than you (and the product of your life and love). That would go much higher than a spouse on the list, who has the same amount of time to live as you. I don't know how I'd feel because I don't have a SO, but I can surely understand it.

no brainer - either one of my kids without thinking twice. ask any parent, if they love their kids they'll say the same.

Well, I suspect you'll make a good SO eventually. :)

If my husband was set to die and I took his place, he'd be PISSED! He doesn't want me to die before him. And I don't want him to die before me. Just because I wouldn't die in my husband's place isn't a sign that I don't love him... it's quite the opposite. It just makes more sense to accept whatever happens naturally.
