Is there someone in this world you would die for?

Not sure if this has been done before, but it seems interesting to me.

Being totally honest with yourself, is there someone specific for whom you would give up the rest of your life so that they could live the rest of theirs? This would not ensure success, happiness, etc. Just you or him/her, and only one could live.

EDITS: To clarify--a specific person close to you, not "your country," a world leader, etc.

Also, take into account how much of your life you'd be giving up compared to the person you saved (if he/she is significantly older than you).

Would you really die, giving up... 60 years of your life (assuming ~college age) for your parents to live their golden years?

I'd like to say I would, but I'd have to say no.

If I didn't have anyone I would die for, I would have shot myself a long time ago. Not much point if you don't have people like that.

Not really. I think it defines love.

Although, my parents would never let me die for them.

my g/f, my brother, my parents. that's about it.

now if I was given a fighting chance, the list gets longer.

The only people in consideration would be my parents or my two brothers, and none of them would want me to give up my life for them (and vice versa). So, Nope.

EDIT: The only people that I could ever see giving my life for would be a spouse or child.

So what you are saying is, you wouldn't die for your parents.

You failed to prove me wrong.
