I use roboform, a purchase program, that remembers login name and passwords and when you go to that site at other times, it can auto fill that login info.

Is there a good free program that also does the same? No spyware either.

I'd think microsoft would include something usable in their xp os.

ummm.... are you talking about remembering loginname and password when browsing certain pages?
if so, aren't they built-in the browsers?

msie: tools > options > content > auto complete > username and password.

mozilla: edit > preferences > privacy and security > passwords > remember password

firefox: tools > options > privacy > password

opera: tools > preferences > wand > let wand remember password

netscape 8: tools > options > privacy > passcard manager

not sure about other browsers since that's all i got on my computer.

Yea that works sometimes, for some places, but not all. Like yahoo mail. Roboform will fill in login, msie will not. Was just hoping there was a better free program to use, besides roboforms purchase program.

AvantBrowser has a plugin called RoboForm that might suit your needs. I have never used it myself but it sounds like what you want:

http://www.avantbrowser.com/

RoboForm,

- Saves online passwords with strong encryption,
- Automatically fills in online passwords to login forms,
- Clicks Login/Submit button for you,
- Fills long registration and checkout forms from multiple personal profiles,
- Generates random secure passwords for you,
- Encrypts sensitive data and passwords with Master Password,
- Backs up and restores your passwords,
- No adware or spyware.

Roboform also has a free version. It shines because its data base is encrypted. It also works in Firefox. :)

Keepass will do what you want, and is highly encrypted to boot. It is open source, so no add/mal/spyware problems.

MSN toolbar has one. the toolbar isn't that bad. links to messenger and myspace and stuff, and their desktop search, which could be useful.
however it seems that you must enter your "master password" everytime you want its password manager to work. which is annoying. i just use Firefox all the time (again). it remembers most sites passwords.
