Is there some conflict between NForce3 and XP service pack 2?

I just bought an Asus K8N-E Deluxe from a feller over on AMDmb. I was going to do a full format/reinstall but when I accidently fried my Radeon somehow, I decided to put the reinstall off till later. Anyway, I reset my hardware and let Windows reinstall all of the drivers for my new mobo/proc and it was fine at first.

Then it would reboot as soon as it would get to Windows. I went ahead and did a Windows repair, everything was fine. Reinstalled XP SP2 and then the problem was back. Uninstalled SP2, problem is gone.

Is this a common issue?

Does not have anything to do with the NF3 chipset, mine runs fine, most likely it's caused by damaged goods. Was that video card in the ASUS board when you fried it ? You might have wacked your whole rig if so.

Im not sure if the card was or not. The only physical thing I can see on the card ia a small chip on the core. its very small and right on the very edge. I suppose that must be it, and I must have done it putting my waterblock on. So probably in the board.

Hmm. I may have to just go ahead and format and reinstall. Dang.
