it wasn't quite a request.... The better comment would have been "your challange has been met" or something to that ring

Does anybody want to know my personal opinion of the existence of a mod that admits to being mean for the hell of it?

We are all waiting....

I'm going to launch an "I'm with STOOPID" campaign. We stand with Evan, and support his request for reinstatement. We already have T-shirts distributed to hundreds of cities worldwide. The revolution is coming! Only YOU can quench our thirst for justice.

Gotta wait til the Mean Moderator comes back from his Kenyan safari...just after Easter. 😉

Okay, my opinion: any mod that admits that he or she takes pleasure in simply banning people because they don't like them or doesn't feel like reading a person's posts or simply on a whim, or locks threads simply because that particular mod doesn't like the topic or doesn't consider it 'worthy' should not be a mod beyond the point that he/she either says it or makes it obvious through actions.

Naturally, I am not a mod so I don't know what guidelines were provided, but there seems to be an awfully large amount of capriciousness among the mods, some seem to simply make decisions about whether to lock or ban based on their own opinions about whether a thread is something that is really worth talking about. I'm quite certain it's not an easy task to read all the threads for an entire shift and keep up with them and decide when someone has crossed the line, but there ought to be a bit more consistency between the mods, rather than such a wide range of behaviors.

We will get back to you as soon as we get done looking up the word "capriciousness".

Hmm. Easter is no good. If he refuses, I'll be out of town, and won't be able to coordinate the campaign's actions. This evening is open though. Have your people contact my people (read: me) and we'll work something out.

DAMMIT EVAN!! This had so better be a joke, you don't ban people for stupidity, I am still here, right?????

GreenBeret: You are so right, Evan is stoopid. 😉

Methinks that calling the Mean Moderator a bitch at what might have been this time of the month was indeed stoopid. 😛

Is he still banned? Haha... you asked for it. 😀

Actually, this happened to me too (almost). I said "I wana be banned too" and the mods replied "You Got it"[/d]. LOL... he/she didn't though (good thing 🙂).

<< Do the mods ever post like us normal folk? Or just troll? >>

yes, most of them are members who were asked to become moderators, so they still post with their member name

well said. and since naturally, I AM a mod 😉 I will personally make sure this stops immediately.

err.. wait. :Q

We derive no pleasure from it. It hurts us more than it does you.😀
