Is there really a difference?

Hi, I am planning on getting a new computer and I want to get an nForce4 Ultra mobo. My question is, is there really a big difference between the Chaintech VNF4/Ultra and the MSI K8N neo4platinum? Does one perform better then the other? I am leaning towards the MSI K8N but if they were the same I would rather save the cash and go with the Chaintech one. Here are links to them both, any help would be appreciated.

I'm in the same fix. My primary performance concern is going to be overclocking, next to the MB features. While I wouldn't hesitate too much before getting the DFI, or MSI, I would still like a comparison to those cheaper boards in terms of stability and performance.

The MSI is not faster, and I wouldn't say it overclocks better. If you don't need the extra features of the Platinum then go with the Chaintech.

Is the Dfi Ultra D much faster? If not which ones are? And what is the point of having 2 pci-e 16x on the dfi ultra d if it isn't SLi? Sorry for all the questions.

You can do a trick to make ultra into sli. As he was thinking...
You are probably on a budget so you should just get a DFI Ultra and mod it to SLI.

I don't know why ppl try to compare mobo performance between different companies. There is most likely no noticeable difference performance wise going with a DFI,MSI,Chaintech, ect mobo. Most of your performance is in the Video,CPU,Memory,HDD in that order if your a gamer.

I don't think there is any real difference between any of the mobos performance wise at stock as the recently released article on Anandtech showed. Now, some of the boards are better overclockers than others and there is a slight differentiation as far as feature sets go but that's about it.
